Matthew Hum - Attorney at Law | Partner
Matthew started Hum Law Firm PLLC in 2011 to provide personalized legal service to his clients. In 2014, he joined Cronus Law, PLLC and continued his work with individual and corporate clients in the Phoenix area and nationwide. Born in Mesa and raised in Gilbert, Arizona, Matt started out with an interest in financial management, earning his Bachelor of Science in Finance from ASU. Matt completed his Juris Doctor at University of Arizona’s James E. Rogers College of Law, having clerked at the Tucson’s Law Offices of Sipe and Landon, the Tucson City Prosecutor’s Office, and the Pima County Public Defender’s Office.
Matt is an active member of the American Bar Association, the Arizona Bar, and the Arizona Asian American Bar Association.
Yash Pahwa - Attorney at Law | Partner
Yash graduated from the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University completing the Health Law certification program. He completed his undergraduate studies at the Eller College of Management at the University of Arizona and graduated cum laude. Yash’s approach to the practice of law begins and ends with careful attention to client needs with an eye toward the most efficient and creative use of resources. During law school, Yash took special interest in business law specializing in the healthcare field. Yash looks forward to continuing to help established and emerging businesses make the complex simple in order to move forward. When he is not at the office, Yash enjoys playing ice hockey with his brother as well as being an avid sports fan and cheering on the Phoenix Suns and Arizona Cardinals.

Donald Cooley III - Attorney at Law
Don joined Cronus Law, PLLC having graduated from the Moritz College of Law at The Ohio State University. He completed his undergraduate studies in Business Economics at the Eller College of Management at the University of Arizona where he graduated cum laude During law school, Don took special interest in criminal defense where he represented clients in the college’s criminal defense clinic. Don also served as a law clerk to the Senior Litigation Counsel at the Arizona Attorney General’s Office where he worked in the high-profile and complex civil litigation section. In addition, in order to broaden his skill set Don served as a mediator in the Franklin County Municipal Court. When he is not in the office, Don enjoys hiking, motorsports, and following global politics.
Don is an active member of the State Bar of Arizona and the Maricopa County Bar Association.
Shawn Threlkeld - Attorney at Law
Shawn has worked in various in-house roles with companies in the Phoenix area - companies ranging from 100 to 100,000 employees; $30 million in revenue to $13 billion – including Honeywell, Triumph Group, WDC Exploration, National EWP, and Abengoa. Although an “In House Generalist”, Shawn is especially strong in contract law having developed, edited and negotiated most types of agreements in the aerospace and construction industries. His other experiences include in-house management of insurance, bonds, risk, labor and employment, corporate resolutions, state filings and licensing.
Shawn is a graduate of Concord Law School, having focused on commercial transactions and intellectual property, but also having received recognition for outstanding achievement in tort law. He is a member of the State Bar of California. Shawn is a licensed U. S. Customs Broker and has advised his clients on many areas of federal law including import and export laws, ITAR, OFAC, FARs, DFARs, EPAFARs. He holds two Bachelor of Science degrees from the University of Wisconsin and worked prior to law school in international transactions of goods with Mitsui and Expeditors International. Shawn resides in Gilbert with his wife and two children, after having relocated from the Chicago area nearly 20 years ago.
Susan Carlson - Attorney at Law
Susan is a graduate of Harvard Law School and completed her undergraduate degree at University of California at Los Angeles, where she graduated cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa. After law school, she clerked for a Federal District Court Judge and worked for a Wall Street law firm, where she began her career in commercial real estate, representing a national mortgage REIT and playing a key role in the negotiation of the extension of the ground lease under Rockefeller Center.
Susan then continued her focus on commercial real estate, starting the in-house legal department at a well-regarded Boston-based regional real estate developer as Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary, where she was responsible for real estate acquisitions, sales, financings, leasing and the development of shopping centers, office and R&D buildings, and residential land subdivisions and condominiums.
Most recently, Susan was Special Counsel at Mintz Levin Cohn Ferris Glovsky and Popeo P.C., a national law firm in its Boston office, representing a large retail chain in ground leasing, financing and sale/leaseback transactions. Susan tired of the snow and gloom in New England and relocated to Arizona several years ago, where she is enthusiastic about the blue skies and sunny days.

My practice centers on THE FAMILY. I specialize in all types of family law matters, including divorce, legal separation, custody, child support, spousal maintenance, contempt, property agreements, prenuptial agreements and orders of protection. These matters can be some of the most important legal tests any person may ever face. I prepare wills, trusts, powers of attorney and living wills, thereby providing for my client’s financial future and the futures of their loved ones. At other times, I am called upon to handle probate matters and will contests.
I began my legal career as a law clerk to Judge Jack L Ogg of the Arizona Court of Appeals, and then as a trial attorney for the United States Government. I served as a judge pro tem for the Maricopa County Superior Court for more than fifteen years. I am a member of both the Arizona and Illinois State Bar Associations, as well as the federal district courts in Arizona, Tennessee and Wisconsin.
I am a cum laude graduate of DePaul University College of Law in Chicago, Illinois, where I was both an editor of the Law Review and a member of the National Moot Court Team. I receive my undergraduate degree, summa cum laude, from UCLA, where I was a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
I am involved in a wide variety of family and community activities including coaching high school football for many years. I believe in working hard and playing hard. When time permits I can usually be found enjoying Arizona’s many outdoor activities.
Joseph Wheaton - Attorney at Law
Joseph graduated from the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University. While there his passion was constitutional law and criminal prosecution, working one semester with the Gang Bureau at the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office. He completed his undergraduate studies at Arizona Statue University, graduating summa cum laude with bachelors’ degrees in both history and political science as well as earning a degree from Barrett, The Honors College in creative writing. Joseph also earned a Master’s degree in education from The Mary Lou Fulton Teachers college while serving with Teach for America and teaching AP Government at Skyline High School.
Joseph was recently selected as the nation’s NFL Tillman scholar, a testament to both his track record as a leader as well as his heart for service. Prior to earning his education, Joseph served his country as an Army Ranger. Joseph enlisted after the 9/11 attacks and served with 2nd Ranger Battalion on six combat deployments: two to Iraq and four to Afghanistan. Beginning his service as an assaulter, he progressed into leadership roles with the reconnaissance section, and finally as a sniper squad leader in charge of 3 special operations sniper teams. Joseph is a zealous advocate for the right to bear arms and looks forward to finding unique and creative solutions to complex problems associated with responsible gun ownership. When not working, Joseph enjoys shooting, brewing beer, fishing, olympic weightlifting and spending time with his wife and newborn daughter, Abigail.
